Pet Kokoni Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and Dewei Meng, the developer and operator of Pet Kokoni (shown as Kokoni on your device) (“we”), about your use of Pet Kokoni. By tapping “Agree and continue” or using Pet Kokoni, you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy. When you get Pet Kokoni from the App Store, Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement also applies; where the two differ, these terms prevail unless the law requires otherwise.
1. The service
Pet Kokoni is a focus timer: while you focus, a pet whose pictures are generated by AI keeps you company. Focusing earns paw coins, which open mystery boxes of gifts and unlock new pets. Pet Kokoni needs no account; your data is kept on your device and in your own iCloud (iPhone) or Google account backup (Android); see the Privacy Policy.
Pet Kokoni helps you set aside time to focus. It does not give medical, psychological or other professional advice.
2. Trial and purchases
The following applies to versions that offer in-app purchases:
- From the first time you open Pet Kokoni, you can use it free for 7 days. The trial needs no payment method and never charges you.
- After the trial, a yearly subscription or the lifetime purchase is needed to keep using Pet Kokoni. Prices are as shown on the App Store purchase page.
- The yearly subscription renews automatically: within 24 hours before each year ends, Apple charges your Apple Account for the next year unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel it under Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions.
- The lifetime purchase is a one-time payment.
- Payments and refunds are handled by Apple under Apple’s rules. After moving to a new device or reinstalling, tap “Restore purchases” in the app to get your purchase back.
- Family Sharing is not available for Pet Kokoni’s in-app purchases.
- If the trial ends without a purchase, or a subscription ends without renewal, Pet Kokoni shows only the purchase page and “Restore purchases”. Your focus records, companion days, gifts, paw coins and unlocked pets are all kept, and you can carry on after purchasing.
3. Paw coins and gifts
- Paw coins are earned only by focusing. They cannot be bought, have no cash value, and cannot be exchanged, transferred or cashed out.
- Paw coins, gifts and pets you earned by focusing are never taken away.
- The odds of each gift in a mystery box are shown in the app’s Gift Room.
4. Content and intellectual property
- The rights in Pet Kokoni’s software, interface, pets, videos, gift pictures, sounds and name belong to us or their respective owners. The pets’ pictures and videos and the gift pictures are generated by AI models.
- You may save and share gift pictures and videos exported from Pet Kokoni for personal, non-commercial use. Exported files carry a label stating that they were generated by AI; do not remove or alter it.
- Without our written permission, you may not use Pet Kokoni’s content commercially, or reverse-engineer, crack or redistribute Pet Kokoni.
5. Your content
The notes, tags and pet names you write are yours. They are kept only on your device and in your iCloud or Google account backup, and we do not obtain them.
6. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
- We work to keep Pet Kokoni stable, but cannot promise it will always be uninterrupted or free of errors. The iCloud backup depends on Apple’s services and on the state of your iCloud, and the Android automatic backup on Google’s services and on the state of your Google account (for example, being signed in and having storage space).
- To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses arising from using or being unable to use Pet Kokoni.
7. Changes and termination
- When these terms change, we raise the version number and update the effective date. If a change needs your agreement again, Pet Kokoni asks you to read and agree to it the next time you open the app.
- You may stop using and delete Pet Kokoni at any time.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China (for these terms, excluding the laws of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan). Disputes are first to be settled by friendly negotiation; failing that, they go to the competent people’s court where the operator resides. This does not take away any rights you have under the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live.
